| We ease the tension of vacation planning with our Customized Tours by making all
arrangements, reservations and payments for your hotel accommodations and transportation
to major destination points here in Costa Rica. We have the experience of traveling in and
out and around the country, so we can confidently make these recommendations to our
customers.
We suggest that if your incoming flight arrives into San Jose late in the afternoon or
evening that you consider spending your first night in or near San Jose or the airport and
begin your adventures, fresh, the next morning. Likewise, if your departure flight leaves
early in the morning or mid-day, it is advisable to stay close to the airport the preceding
night. Remember that the sun sets in this part of the world, year-round, between 5:30 - 5:45
p.m., and driving can be quite challenging on our roads at night.

SAN JOSE ACCOMMODATION SELECTION
|

THE DRAGONFLY INN - This quaint, personable and impeccably clean B & B is located in Alajuela, only 10 minutes from the airport, and makes for quite the “soft landing” for you and your traveling companions or family. Your hosts, Michael & Dawn, formerly from the US, offer unsurpassed hospitality in their 2-story, colonial-style Tico house. Whatever your travel schedule may be, they will cheerfully assist you and get you off to your next destination. Your stay includes a “Typical Tico” breakfast on the patio, which has been rated as one of the best breakfasts among their guests. This B & B has four simple guests rooms with a large shared bath (with jacuzzi) and is low-moderately priced.
THE DON CARLOS - If you want to dive right into the country’s culture upon your arrival, then this small and charming, four star hotel, would be your choice. It is located about 25 minutes from the airport in the historic district of downtown San Jose. From this convenient location, you can walk to many of San Jose’s attractions including the National Museum and the Jade Museum, fine restaurants, art galleries and gift shops. Its ambience offers you a taste of rich Costa Rican heritage, proudly displaying cultural artifacts, art work, fountains and gardens. Each of the 33 rooms is unique. An excellent restaurant and gift shop and friendly, bi-lingual staff add to the pleasure of your stay. All rooms have private baths and are in the moderate- moderately high price range.

MANUEL ANTONIO ACCOMMODATIONS SELECTION

HOTEL COSTA VERDE - This is the place where there are still more monkeys than people and you will be sure to see them. Set on a hill over looking beautiful Manuel Antonio Beach and National Park, this is one of the most full service hotels in the area.
It offers three fabulous restaurants - all very unique, three swimming pools, fabulous ocean view rooms with balconies, cable TV and AC, close proximity to the beach, live music and a flavor of the tropics that you will never forget. There are 50 rooms, ranging from bungalows to studios apartments with a choice of views and location within this 30 acre property. Prices range from moderate-moderately high.

CASA DEL CHAMAN - You can have your own private, jungle-view house for your stay here in Manuel Antonio. Situated in a peaceful and quiet area of Manuel Antonio, but still within close walking distance to restaurants, shops, internet service and public transportation, this house gives you the privacy and convenience of having your own house.
The house has two separate apartments, both with AC and use of pool. The upper Deluxe Apartment is one bedroom with king bed (apt can sleep up to 4), full kitchen, phone, cable, w&d and porch. Price is moderate-moderately high. The lower Efficiency Apt is one bedroom with full bed, small fridge, table & chairs, kitchen supplies, coffee maker, microwave and a large luxurious bathroom with a jacuzzi and a shower. This is in the low to moderate price range.

SWISS HOTEL MIRAMONTES This German owned hotel is the place to stay while you adventure around the cloud forest of Monteverde and are enjoying other local attractions. It is clean as a whistle with comfortable rooms. Moderately high priced.

IN-COUNTRY TRANSPORTATION
Traveling around Costa Rica can be challenging if you are not familiar with the country and the language. If you have never traveled through Costa Rica and prefer not to do the driving yourself, then let us help you to choose and to arrange the best mode of transportation to get you from your major destination points. Once your custom itinerary is created, then we can make recommendations to you as to how to get from place to place - safely, and as quick as possible.

PRIVATE SHUTTLE BUS - We can arrange and reserve a private, small and comfortable, air conditioned van to pick you up right at your hotel at the time we have chosen and carefully shuttle you to your next destination. We hire drivers and vans through a very reputable, local company that keeps their fleet of transport vehicles well maintained. The friendly, bi-lingual drivers are highly experienced in traversing the country’s challenging roads and you will feel comfortable and assured traveling with them. Price is moderate - moderately high.

DOMESTIC AIR FLIGHTS - There are two, highly reputable domestic airlines that serve Costa Rica and its neighboring countries who can get you to your next destination quickly and safely. They offer large and stable, smooth riding twin engine aircraft that are fast and quiet with climate controlled interiors for maximum comfort. Small airfields throughout the country offer you some flying familiarity with their
small terminals and friendly service. There are luggage weight limits for these flights, but if budget allows, it is the best way to travel around the country. Moderately high priced.

INTERBUS - These 12 passenger, air conditioned mini vans offer transportation to most major hotels in and around Costa Rica and to the San Jose airport. Daily, scheduled service is reliable but a little slower than a private shuttle, because of the frequent stops made at hotels along the way. If you are not in a hurry and on a tighter budget, then this should suit you just fine. Moderately priced.
